Welcome to my Recommended Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Author Page.I have read all of the books listed on this site, most of them several times. If you click on the recommended book link,
it will bring you to a page that talks about the author and my favorite series or books by that author. I also classify each series by what age reader is appropriate, and list them in the order that they should be read.
You
have the opportunity to purchase books right off the page. The authors with "star ratings" are those who have withstood the test of time, in that I've been able to pick up their books again and re-read them for enjoyment.
Some of the other authors might eventually become star rated, but their books are still too new to me to judge. Raymond E. FeistRaymond Feist's book Magician: Apprentice was a wonderful read and the first in his Riftwar Saga. I confess to owning most of her books, but to still having unread volumes in my shelf. Very few of her works are for lazy readers(of which I can be one). Cherryh creates universes that are truly different from the one we live in. In her books you can take nothing for granted. To quote from fantasticfiction.com "C.J. Cherryth is a fou . . . I discovered Mercedes Lackey when I had depleted all of Anne McCaffrey's books and was looking for another good read. I started with her Valdemar series: Arrow of the Queen, Arrow's Flight, Arrow's Fall. This series is quite good, as is her Bardic Voices series. Some of her other books set in Valdemar tend to become rather gothic. I am going to highlight my favorite of her books here. . . . |
